Loved these knives so far I washed in warm water and the shine was amazing! I haven’t dish washed any since I got them last night 6/13/22 but I’m sure they are going to be wonderful
This knife set was requested by my son and his girlfriend more than a year ago. They were planning their future home decor, before they had a place of their own. They mentioned their plan to collect stainless steel appliances. So, the knife set will complement their future stainless-steel appliances. This set not only has the most common kitchen knives, but it also includes a very effective knife sharpener. I had given them a few kitchen knives initially, when they first moved. They weren't as sharp as this new stainless-steel set, but they were useful. I was impressed, when they were able to sharpen them to their original condition by using the sharpener included in the knife block. Everything included in this set was something that they needed. I was tempted to order a set for myself, just to have the pair of scissors included with it. They're nicer than my expensive sewing shears. The tongs and grater are a nice addition too. This stainless-steel knife set catches your eyes. It would complement any kitchen, because it gleams with quality and charm. Highly recommended
I ordered this knife block set because I appreciate knives that include good-sized bolsters on each blade in the set (including the steak knives), and this set has them. I liked the idea of an all-stainless set since my current set has a black non-slip coating on the handles which is beginning to wear off. I've included a comparison photo of two knives from this set along with the corresponding knives from my old set. This set feels decent in my hands, but it is light weight; the handles are obviously quite hollow, and the balance would be better if the handles had more heft to them. This knife block set comes with several bonus items: a very nice silicone peeler that has the best grip of any peeler I've used, handy tongs, and kitchen scissors. The knife blades are sharp, and the attractive wood knife block includes a sharpener. I haven't had the knives long enough to discover if they stain or become dulled more quickly than average for kitchen knives. I hand-wash all my good knives, so I can't comment about how these would do in a dishwasher, either. I think the set could be improved by including a bread knife, but I knew that it didn't have one when I ordered it, so I can't complain about the lack. The biggest drawback to this set is the underwhelming quality control; several items are poorly finished. There is a minor burr and a nasty black stain that won't wash off on the bolster of the chef knife (which is my most-used kitchen tool), and one of the steak knives has a poorly finished handle end. These are relatively minor cosmetic issues, but I'm taking a star off the rating for them. This knife set is fine, and far superior to the usual knife block sets from 20-30 years ago.
I was in need of a new knife set, and I am so glad I got this one. There is a sharpener as part of the block, a great set of knives, a peeler, and a set of tongues. I like that this set also comes with scissors, and has a place for it in the knife block. The knives are very sharp, and they are able to cut things well. I had gotten used to my old knives that weren't as sharp anymore, that I had to be careful when using the new ones, because they cut things so easily! I think you could also buy this for someone as a gift, as it really is a nice set.
